Special

Seán

Awliscombe

It’s hard not to use superlative adjectives when describing the impact the Suthering live show has had on me. Heg and Julu are both accomplished musicians with divine voices, and who write the most thought-provoking and relevant songs. I bought the latest CD there and I’m listening to it all the time. It’s wonderful, of course, and a treasure to have, but what we got on the night was the insight into the birth of each song. It was immense. Sharing those creative sparks that turn into wonderful songs. Touching on so many aspects of the human condition: place and belonging; love and loss; fragility and hope. Everyone at the concert would have reflected their own lives onto the words and spirit of the music. Special, very special.

Blown away

Amy

I was absolutely blown away by this gig!
I really appreciated the honesty and raw emotion behind the stories of the songs which covered a range of themes close to my heart. Every emotion was visited and, whilst there was a feeling of sadness, I left feeling hopeful and less alone. There was pure magic in the room that night. Heg and Julu pour so much into each performance, engaging so brilliantly with their audiences. Their songs open up opportunies to educate one another and remind us to keep on fighting. Their songs are on repeat in our house and we can’t wait for the next gig!

Great evening

Loved hearing the stories behind the creation of their beautifully crafted songs. My particular favourites are Silhouette, Warrior, Mountain & Ghosts of Winter. A very talented and special duo.

Emotional

Penzance

I’ll m used to the lovely harmonies and the gentle on stage banter, the lovely playing and the easy rapport with the audience.
What is special is the quality of the songs and the story they tell of being transparent about issues around mental health. In a troubled, spinning world the constant theme of light, patience and love permeate.
Strong women singing strong songs for our times.

Mesmerising Harmonies

Tavistock

Suthering's Leave A Light On album launch in Tavistock was such a special evening, full of mesmerising harmonies, beautiful songs and wonderful stories. Hearing Heg and Julu's stories behind their songs makes the album feel even more special. If you get a chance to see them grab it! You will laugh, you will cry and you will leave feeling full of hope.

Sonic Bliss

Matt

Tavistock

The Leave A Light On launch show in Tavistock was a night of pure aural bliss. Suthering successfully melded together the soaring harmonies of their beautiful voices, the sonic lushness of their instrumentation and heartfelt and realistic storytelling of human existence, that were all binded together with a good dose of humour and sincerity. Needless to say, Suthering are a must see force of nature that help to shine A Light On the beauty and the hardships of the lives we all share. I can't wait to see their spectacular live performance again!
